Year of Faith

Year of Faith: October 11, 2012 - November 24, 2013

"The Year of Faith will be a moment of grace and commitment for an ever fuller conversion to God,to strengthen our faith in him and to proclaim him with joy to the people of our time." (Homily of H.H. Benedict XVI during the Holy Mass for the New Evangelization, October 16, 2011)

Live from St. Peter's Square at the Vatican, a worldwide time of prayer, "A Moment with Mary", delivered through TV stations and streamed on social networks.
Young people, social networks, the Vatican and the joy of prayer ? these are the life-giving elements of **"A Moment with Mary"**, an evangelization initiative for the Year of Faith.
It's a worldwide Rosary connecting social networks, television stations and the internet with St. Peter's Square each day, Monday through Friday, from 4pm to 4:30pm (Rome time).
The initiative is a true worldwide network of prayer, brought to life on the one hand by groups, communities, associations and movements that alternate in praying the Rosary at the Vatican, and on the other, by thousands of individuals and communities united with those leading the rosary through new communication technologies. On Google + alone, one of today's most important social networks, approximately 24,800 people have already joined this network.
"That's news worth spreading!" Cardinal Angelo Comastri, Vicar General of His Holiness for Vatican City, explained in a recent letter.
This moment of prayer, which includes an introduction based on the Word of God and a personal witness as well as the recitation of the Rosary, is enriched by the thousands of prayer intentions shared with those participating via social media networks.
**A Moment with Mary** comes in response to the invitation of Pope Benedict XVI, who again recently proposed in his October 7, 2012 Angelus reflection that "everyone give high regard to praying the Rosary during this Year of Faith." The Holy Father continued: "With the Rosary, in fact, we allow ourselves to be guided by Mary, the model of faith, in meditating on the mysteries of Christ. Thus, day by day she helps us to imbibe the Gospel, such that it informs and shapes the whole of our lives."
**A Moment with Mary** is an initiative being promoted by young people from the Vatican's International **Centro San Lorenzo**, sponsored and overseen by the Pontifical Council for Laity and the **Aleteia network**, and broadcast worldwide courtesy of the **Vatican Television Center (Ctv)** and the TV channel **Telepace**.
